I offer 1-2-1 and private small group photography workshops with tuition tailored to suit you. These workshops run in both the Peak District and Snowdonia. For the day, you will have my undivided attention where we will visit some of the best places the area has to offer.

By booking me for the Peak District, you will be in the hands of the author of Peak District Through The Lens, the 400-page photo location guidebook to the Peak District. This means you will have a tutor with intimate knowledge of the area, helping us plan the best locations for the particular time of year and weather conditions.

If you want to visit Snowdonia instead, I am also a regular visitor to the National Park, having visited for over 10 years, learning the area inside/out, from low down easy access locations to high up mountain summits. We will visit the best locations for the conditions and plan a day suited to how you want to learn and to your physical abilities.

Throughout the day, we will explore the Peak District or Snowdonia with the aim of returning with the best results possible. As each workshop is tailored, you will only be taught what you want to learn. We can look at basics such as composition and focusing through to more advanced techniques such as exposure blending, focus stacking and panoramic photography.

Remember this workshop is designed around you. Need help with something specific? Want to go to a certain location? No problem, we will discuss this before the day. I will send you a questionnaire to allow me to plan the day for you. If you don’t have anything specific in mind, don’t worry either, I will choose locations that suit the time of year and your ability to ensure you get the most out of the day.

These workshops are also tailored towards your physical requirements. I have previously ran workshops for those who are less mobile in the landscape and we can still get you to some great places. Please just drop me an email to discuss and we can see what we can do and where we could go.

Each workshop is generally between 7 to 8 hours depending on the weather and light. The workshop will also include a introduction to post-processing during lunch if required. The workshops also run until sunset so please expect a late finish depending on the time of year.

I am happy to travel further afield to offer bespoke 1-2-1’s such as the Lake District. Please contact me first to agree a price for these.

Prices are just £300 for the day. Dates are by request only. I can run these any day of the week but weekdays are better if possible as I have much more availiability. If you would like a weekend, this can be arranged but as they are more popular and group workshops run more frequently there may be a wait for a date. Please get in touch to see what dates I have before booking. If you would like to bring someone with you, this is no problem and each extra person is just £50.

If you would like to discuss dates before booking, then please use the contact form to email me.

Difficulty Description

Below is an explanation of the difficulty for the workshop. It will also largely be dictated by your own perception and previous experience in this kind of environment. The rating is a rough guide and in context to the type of workshop e.g. a hill-walking workshop moderate is different to a standard day workshop moderate. I have tried to explain more about the day in the description above also.

These workshops are tailored to your needs and I will form a general plan based off your questionnaire to suit terrain and difficulty to your abilities. I have experience in running workshops for all abilities including those with disabilities. I always aim to make it the best day possible and want you to enjoy your experience. I can adapt plans on the day to choose more suitable locations if we find you’re either coping well or need something a little easier.
