Photography Tuition

I offer one to one, relaxed photography tuition where you will receive my undivided attention for a days photography at a pace suited to you.

Tuition is availiable to suit all needs from beginner to the experienced. We will spend around 5 hours in the and around the Peak District going to some fantastic locations you can see in my gallery where we will practice techniques and learn about what makes a good photo to help you produce better results. I like to incorporate a sunrise/sunset where possible to try and capture the best light for you.

Subjects covered in tuition.

• The basic principles of landscape photography.
  

  Photographing the tunnel's at Monsal Head

• Understanding simple rules of photography and where to break them.
• Seeing your picture before picking up the camera.
• Composition.
• Lighting. How to make use of and planning locations.
• Using manual functions over auto.
• Selecting aperture and shutter speeds.
• Exposing correctly.
• Use of filters.
• Use of ISO.
• Other camera settings.
• Explaining fors an againsts for subjects such as HDR, RAW + JPEG, Exposure blending etc.
• Taking a picture to get most of it correct in camera.

All the above of course will be tailored to your needs as a photographer and will be discussed beforehand.

I will provide transport from a pre-determined location for the day so you can relax and take in the sights. A small amount of walking may be involved and again will be tailored more to your needs. A spare change of clothes is recommended as well as walking boots.

The cost for a days one-to-one tuition is £75. If however you however have a friend/partner who wishes to also have tuition a discounted rate can be provided if booked for the same day. A minimal deposit of £20 (for one person) is also required to secure a date and is non refundable should you decide to cancel.
